Search "roofer near me" on your phone and you'll usually see a map with three businesses under it. That's the map pack, also called the local 3-pack. Homeowners trust it, they call straight from it, and many never scroll past it. For a lot of home service businesses it's the best free spot on Google.

What shows up there comes from your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business). Google has said local rankings come down to relevance, distance and prominence. You can't move your shop, but relevance and prominence are mostly up to you.

What we do

Fix the basics

Your business name, phone number, website and hours should be accurate and match everywhere else your business is listed. We remove anything that breaks Google's guidelines, like keywords stuffed into your business name, because that can get a profile suspended.

Choose the right categories

Your primary category is one of the strongest ranking signals. We pick the most specific one for your main service, like "Roofing contractor" instead of "Contractor," then add secondary categories for your other services.

List every service

We add each service you offer with a plain-English description, so Google knows to show you for "gutter installation" as well as "roofing."

Set your service area

We list the cities and areas you serve. If you work from home, we set up a service-area profile so your home address stays hidden.

Add photos, regularly

Real photos of your team, trucks and finished jobs build trust and show Google the profile is active. We'll tell you what to shoot and keep new photos going up.

Post updates

Regular posts about recent projects, seasonal offers and services keep the profile active and give searchers more reasons to call you.

Automatic review requests

A steady stream of genuine reviews counts for more than a one-time burst. We set up automatic requests that go out after each job, with a direct link that makes leaving a review easy. We also help you reply to reviews, including the bad ones. See how to get more Google reviews.

Track calls and direction requests

We set up tracking so you can see how many calls, website visits and direction requests your profile brings in each month.

Your website backs up your profile

Google checks your profile against your website. Pages for each service and the towns you serve, with your name, address and phone number matching your profile, make your listing more relevant. That's why GBP work goes hand in hand with local SEO and a fast website. Read our guide to ranking in the Google Map Pack.

FAQ

Google Business Profile questions

If your question isn't here, ask it on a free call. There's no obligation.

How long does it take to rank in the map pack?

Fixing categories, services and photos can help within a few weeks. Moving up in a competitive market usually takes a few months of steady reviews, photos, posts and work on your website. Distance still matters: you'll rank best close to your business location.

Do I need a physical office?

No. Service-area businesses can have a verified profile with the address hidden, as long as you serve customers at their locations. You do need a real address for Google to verify.

Can I put keywords in my business name?

Only if they're part of your real, legal business name. Adding extra keywords breaks Google's guidelines and can get your profile suspended. There are safer ways to rank for those terms.

What if I have bad reviews?

Reply to every negative review calmly and professionally. Future customers read those replies. Then focus on getting more reviews from happy customers. A steady flow of good recent reviews matters more than one old bad one.
